On 22 August 2024, the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track No. 1) Bill 2024 was passed by Parliament having been voted on in the lower house and upper house (Senate). There had been a Senate Community Affairs Inquiry into the Bill which was extended for further inquiry which received over 300 submissions. Many submissions raised concerns and sought amendments to the Bill (e.g. Australian Legal Aid, Villamanta Disability Rights Legal Service Inc, Dr Darren O’Donovan Administrative Law School La Trobe University, Public Interest Advocacy Centre, Every Australian Counts, People With Disability Australia and others).

The activities of this company with Emily Caska named as CEO in the LinkedIn page using the name Down Syndrome Institute, are not endorsed nor supported by Down Syndrome NSW. The activities, social media posts, LinkedIn page and website currently using the name “Down Syndrome Institute” are not endorsed nor supported by Down Syndrome NSW. Down Syndrome NSW is a registered charity that has been in operation for over 40 years. Its membership consists of people with Down syndrome, their families and supporters.
