Become a Member

DS NSW membership is completely FREE and we welcome individuals with Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, their friends and family members (parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, carers), support workers, schools, teachers, disability service providers and workers, organisations and corporates, government representatives and anyone wishing to support them.

Membership is open to all who share our mission of promoting awareness, advocacy and opportunities for people with Down syndrome. 

Member Benefits

Support Services: Receive expert support and guidance from our experienced staff and volunteers, who are dedicated to empowering individuals with Down syndrome, their families, expecting mothers, employers and educators. We also provide support and advice for NDIS pre-plans and planning reviews. 

Access to Resources:
Gain access to a wealth of resources, educational materials, courses, free workshops, support services, fact sheets and guides, and information on programs and events tailored to individuals with Down syndrome.

Weekly Newsletter:
DSNSW Members stay updated and informed with our Weekly Newsletter, featuring the latest news, events, resources, and inspiring stories from the Down Syndrome NSW community. 

Advocacy:
Becoming a member, allows us to advocate for the rights and inclusive of individuals with Down syndrome and intellectual disability in all aspects of society, including education, employment, healthcare, pre-natal and community life. Certain levels of membership also hold voting rights. 

Education & Learning Resources: Participate in our FREE workshops, seminars and training sessions designed to enhance understanding, skills and knowledge related to Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities. Educators and professionals can also access their first consultation free.

Community Connection: Join a supportive community of over 5000 individuals, families and organisations who understand the unique joys and challenges of living with Down syndrome. 

Networking:
Connect with other members through our social events and online Facebook support groups, fostering friendships and support networks and sharing advice and tips.
