Notice of Special General Meeting of Down Syndrome Association of New South Wales Inc

I am writing to provide notice for a Special General Meeting.
Meeting
Date:Wednesday 26 November 2025
Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Venue: Online via videoconference (a link will be emailed prior to the meeting)
Agenda of the Meeting:
- To vote on the special resolution to approve the amended constitution of the Down Syndrome Association of NSW Incorporated.
The purpose of this meeting is to reconvene the Special General Meeting held on 18 October 2024 where the below motion was agreed to:
Item 3: Motion - Special General Meeting Adjournment
In view of the member feedback on the Special General Meeting registration and voting process and member question and discussion on the proposed constitutional changes (Special Resolution), the Vice-President proposed a motion to adjourn this Special General Meeting to allow for more inclusive access for all members to register and vote.
Following the 18 October 2024 Special General Meeting, two meetings open to all members of the association were offered seeking feedback on the draft Constitution. Members were also encouraged to provide their feedback by email to the association.

To attend the reconvened Special General Meeting, you must be a member of Down Syndrome NSW and registered at the link below by 9am Monday 24 November 2025. Click here to register.

Section 15.b of the current Constitution states that only Ordinary Members and Life Members are entitled to vote on a motion at a Special General Meeting.
Voting will be online through live voting on the night and proxy in advance and will be conducted independently by TrueVote. Details on the voting process will be emailed prior to the meeting.
