Down Syndrome Awareness Month 2025

Celebrating identity, passions, and achievements of people with Down syndrome!

I am

This October, we invite you to join us for Down Syndrome Awareness Month 2025.

With the empowering theme “I Am”, the campaign celebrates people with Down syndrome by centering their voices, experiences, and achievements. Inspired by our community’s powerful reflections, we’ll share stories that highlight character, values, passions, and talents because every individual is unique, capable, and thriving.

Through storytelling, inclusive community events, and awareness initiatives, we will shine a light on the whole person beyond a diagnosis and celebrate the vibrant lives of people with Down syndrome.

I Am

When people with Down syndrome shared their stories, they spoke not just of challenges, but of joy, strength, and individuality.
“I am strong.”
“I am unique.”
“I am a dancer, a friend, a leader.”
The theme “I Am” honours these voices, empowering the community and inviting everyone to see people with Down syndrome for who they truly are.

We extend our gratitude to the generosity of our families and Down Syndrome NSW Ambassadors for being a part of this project:
