Congratulations on the birth of your new baby!

Amidst the joy of your baby's arrival, a new diagnosis can create stress; not knowing what to expect for your baby or for yourselves as new parents; what to tell family and siblings; what the future might look like.

We understand that things may not be as you expected. You may be feeling a range of emotions, from shock to sadness, anger, disappointment, loss and fear.

You may also be feeling overwhelmed.

Down Syndrome NSW is here to offer information and support to you and your family. Not just today or tomorrow – whenever you need it, every step of the way.

Right now, having accurate and current information about Down syndrome is one of the best things you can do. Our New Parent Information Pack is a wealth of information and can help answer some of the questions and concerns you may be experiencing. Most hospitals will supply you with the New Parent Information Pack when your baby is born.

If you did not receive a copy of the New Parent Information Pack from the hospital, contact us directly on 02 9841 4444 and ask to speak with one of our Information, Training & Support team.

The Information, Training & Support team have a wealth of professional knowledge and experience, as well as being parents of children with Down syndrome. We can connect you to services and supports in your local community and are available to talk through any concerns you may have.

DS NSW is here for you and your family, now and into the future.
